burrowing webworm mothThe species in this family are found in North and South America. There are around 300 species in all and about 80 species in North America.

Burrowing webworm moths are gray, brown, or tan and have few markings.

The larvae of burrowing webworm moths make long, tubular silken webs in the ground. The larvae of some species feed on grass roots.
