There are around 10 species of small sharks in this family. Most species are less than six feet in length. They have torpedo-shaped bodies, arrow heads, and rounded snouts. Some species also have
luminous organs
on their undersides that glow in the dark ocean water. They eat fish, squid, and crustaceans.
